DataWay is an expandable, PC based, data acquisition software program that is compatible with Windows® 98, 2000, ME and XP. Currently supported instruments include models 6400, 6405, 6500, 6505 and Genova spectrophotometers and the X5 laboratory electrochemistry range (except 3505 and 9500).

DataWay will automatically detect any of the supported instruments that are connected to com ports 1 - 4 on the PC. No manual settings are required. A ‘quick start’ option enables specific instruments to be nominated, speeding up the search and detect process.

Data can be down loaded from connected instruments manually or on a timed (data logging) basis. Readings, as displayed on the instrument, are stored in tabular form on the PC screen, along with date and time. This data is also displayed graphically, with the option to show either the data or the graph, or to split the screen so that both can be viewed together.

Data can be saved to, and recalled from, files on the PC using familiar explorer windows to locate and open them. Data can also be copied to the clipboard or directly on to an Excel spreadsheet. Stored data can be recalled, settings adjusted and Help files accessed in the offline mode when no instrument is connected.

Expanded print options enable graphics and/or data to be printed on a full or split page and in a range of orientations. Familiar Toolbar icons give quick access to most functions and the ‘tabbed page’ format clearly identifies the main working areas.

DataWay is intuitive and easy to use, with on-screen prompts and detailed Help files. It can acquire data from all modes of the connected instrument, it enhances the data handling, and in many cases improves the functionality of the instrument.
