Model 6500/5 Multi-Wavelength Mode

The Multi-Wavelength mode is ideal for applications (such as DNA/RNA composition at 260/280nm) where difference and ratio analysis can be used quantatively. The user can set four wavelengths anywhere within the wavelength limits of the instrument. The readings can be displayed as either %Transmittance, Absorbance or Concentration. Along with the four wavelengths and associated photometrics values, difference and ratio of two of the selected readings are also displayed.

Calibration at both wavelengths can be performed automatically via a single user operation.

If the optional printer is fitted to the instrument, a hard-copy of the readings can be obtained simply by pressing the print key. If there is no printer fitted, the readings can be downloaded to a personal computer via the RS232 port for later reference or printed out onto a supported Centronics printer.
