96 Well Sample Concentrator

The Techne® 96 well Sample Concentrator is used to accelerate concentration of chemical samples in a matter of minutes by using a Techne® Dri-Block® heater with an adjustable gassing hood. This method is proving more popular and convenient over traditional vacuum/centrifuge methods.

The Techne® 96 well Sample Concentrator is typically used in the preparation of samples for bioanalytical techniques in drug screening, assay development and combinatorial chemistry.

The Techne® 96 well Sample Concentrator consists of a fully adjustable gas reservoir which mount over a Techne® Dri-Block® heater, (temperature range 25 to 200°C). (Note: Most 96 well plates are not designed to withstand high temperature; in addition due to the large variety of plates available a temperature offset, (typically 20°C) can be expected). A variety of 96 well plates can be located in various Techne® 96 well block inserts. The block insert allows for easy manual or robot access.

SAMPLE CONCENTRATION
As the samples are being heated gas is passed via the unique patented gas chamber through hypodermic needles on to the surface of the test solution, so providing the environment for rapid evaporation and sample concentration. The hypodermic needles are set in a silicone rubber matrix assembly enabling their positions to be changed to accommodate different tube configurations. The standard 76mm long needles are suitable for most applications but where large samples require evaporation in long tubes, packs of longer needles (127mm) are available. Where corrosive solutions are being evaporated, PTFE needles are available.

The gas chamber is suitable for use with most gases and may be adjusted to suit the level of liquid in the sample tubes to give even faster evaporation times.

The compact nature of the Sample Concentrator enables it to be placed in a fume cupboard when toxic vapors are being evaporated. Comes complete with gas chamber and stand.

NEEDLES
Needles are not included with the Sample Concentrator and must be ordered separately. They are available in packs of 100, 76mm or 127mm long.
