Blotting techniques using radioactive and calorimetric probes find applications in many areas of molecular biology. However, because of the expense and hazardous nature of some of these probes it is desirable that probing be safe, use minimal volumes, allow re-use of materials and be easy. The HB-ID will accept six large tubes. Mini-tubes can be used with the capacity to run up to five 20x20cm membranes in each. There is no increase in background radiation, which means that as many as 30 hybridization's can be performed simultaneously. Alternatively up to 24 mini-tubes can be used. As little as 5ml of probe is required which not only reduces expense but actually improves the signal. The HB-ID is very compact, easy to use and provides complete protection from hybridization hazards. |
